Who among us hasn’t dreamed of exacting revenge against your parents for an unfair punishment? Still, chances are, as a teen, arrow shooting was more of a dormant fantasy than a potential reality.
But for one 15-year-old girl in Tahuya, Washington, it was a possibility that earlier this week came to life.
When her dad took her cell phone, she responded with an arrow.
To the gut.
Apparently, the un-named girl, who lives with her 35-year-old father, is an avid deer hunter, giving her access to a high-powered bow and arrow, reports The Seattle Times.
For some reason, when her father grounded her and took her cell phone, the paper reports that she shot him in the torso, causing life threatening injuries.
The teen arrow shooting gets worse–the girl refused to allow her father to use the phone, forcing him to crawl out a window and drive to a nearby neighbor’s home to call 911.
When the SWAT team found her, she was in the woods, armed with her bow and at least 35 arrows, reports the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.
Lest you think this was the action of a normal teen, both papers are reporting that the girl suffers from medical problems and is being held in a local hospital until she is fit for arraignment.
Assuming that her “medical problems” are of the mental health variety, the juvenile court is likely to order a competency evaluation to determine whether or not she can stand trial, and, if so, whether the teen arrow shooting was the result of mental disease.
