There are many straightforward ways that a person can get a DUI: being pulled over for driving erratically, DUI checkpoints, or being involved in a car accident. And then, there are less conventional ways to get a DUI, such as while riding a horse on the freeway.
How Did This Happen?
Isaac Bonsu was initially pulled over for an equipment violation. According to the dashboard camera released by police, Bonsu got out of his car and started running. Apparently, however, Bonsu forgot to put the car in park before exiting the vehicle, so when he ran in front of his car, he ended up being hit by the car.
Although hearing that a person ran over his car and subsequently was charged with a DUI is funny, driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol is no laughing matter. If you’re intoxicated, it’s always a good idea to find a sober driver – whether it’s a friend or rideshare service. However, if you are arrested for a DUI, it’s in your best interest to contact a DUI attorney who can explain the DUI laws in your state and advocate on your behalf.
