A Call of Duty attack doesn’t seem like such an odd thing. But when it involves a grown man, a 13-year-old child, and an internet network, it becomes a bit more suspect. Mark Bradford, 46, pleaded guilty to such an assault this week in front of magistrates in Plymouth, England. He was accused of choking a teenage neighbor after a rousing game of Call of Duty: Black Ops. The kid shot his character, and the father of three retaliated....

Massachusetts law enforcement don’t want none unless you got drug-loaded buns hun! Or at least that was the case with Jill Roy, 33, who was allegedly caught smuggling heroin and painkillers underneath a prosthetic butt. A police report obtained by The Smoking Gun reveals that Roy was arrested after drugs fell out of her pants during a traffic stop. During the booking process, officers observed that Roy’s underwear had “a hard exterior,” which turned out to be a fake booty that was hiding a cache of drugs underneath....

It’s not just bad; it’s scary bad. The drop-off is so steep, it makes President Trump’s approval ratings look good. The California town of Vacaville woke up to some strange news on Sunday morning when residents learned that Patricia Wright of nearby Fairfield had stormed a Super 8 Motel, taking control of its lobby for nearly 20 minutes. Dan Heyman, a local West Virginia writer and news reporter, was arrested last week inside the halls of the state’s capitol building for trying to ask a politician a question. The arresting officers claimed that Mr. Heyman was creating a disturbance, and, officially, that he was arrested for “willful disruption of a governmental process.” Tom Price, the country’s Health and Human Services secretary, was walking in the state capitol with Kellyanne Conway, when Heyman, with valid press credentials on display, approached to ask a question about whether victims of domestic violence and rape risk losing coverage under the AHCA....

A decision of the Merit Systems Protection Board holding that the INS’s non-selection of petitioner for any of the law enforcement position for which she applied is not a violation of a Negotiated Settlement and Last Chance Agreement (NSLCA) is affirmed as the NSLCA does not require the agency to ignore petitioner’s history of her arrest for obtaining money under false pretenses, and “good faith” does not require pretending that this history does not exist....

It just got harder to demean other attorneys on the basis of race, religion, sex, disability, age, or other factors, when engaging in conduct related to the practice of law. On Monday, at the American Bar Association’s national meeting in San Francisco, the ABA adopted new rules that make it professional misconduct to engage in discriminatory behavior. To some, the new rules are a needed bulwark against “too many ‘honeys,’ ‘darlings’ and other sexist remarks” in the legal profession, while others complain that they threaten attorneys’ free speech....

What was once an anomaly is now a trend: two more law schools are accepting the Graduate Record Examination for admissions. Georgetown Law and Northwestern’s Pritzker School of Law will accept the alternate test or the traditional Law School Admission Test for the entering class of 2018. The schools made the announcement the same day, bringing the count up to four nationwide. The University of Arizona’s Rogers College of Law led the way last year, followed by Harvard Law School this year....

A pair of “truck nuts” led to the arrest of a driver in South Carolina, where cops apparently aren’t too keen on the kitschy decoration that some find obscene. A sheriff’s deputy stopped Joe Cervantes-Rodriguez, 31, on Sunday night, apparently for no reason other than the “truck nuts” dangling from the back of his pickup truck, according to an incident report obtained by The Smoking Gun. “The vehicle was displaying an obscene object from the rear bumper,” the deputy’s report states....

A rape scandal involving student athletes in Ohio has prompted a federal prosecutor to call for new social media guidelines for student athletes – rules that acknowledge the dangerous cocktail created when drug and alcohol use meets smartphones. The program was initiated by U.S. Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld in early August after two Ohio high school football players were convicted of raping a 16-year-old girl under the influence of alcohol. The sexual assault drew international attention because of the use of “text messages and social media in exposing the attack,” reports The Associated Press....

The bud business is booming in Colorado, the first state to legalize retail recreational marijuana sales to adults age 21 and older. In the first week of sales alone, pot retailers raked in more than $5 million. Combined wholesale and retail pot sales are expected to generate a jaw-dropping $600 million annually. Constitutional law expert and educator Erwin Chemerinsky will be the new dean at UC Berkeley School of Law, taking on economic challenges that have impacted law schools everywhere and hoping to leave behind a sexual harassment controversy that had tarnished the storied educational institution. Chermerinsky, who is currently dean of UC Irvine School of Law, brings with him the experience of launching that law school nine years ago. He is a career educator, having taught at several law schools, including Duke and USC, and having published 10 books and hundreds of law review articles....

The popular yoga studio known as a Dahn Yoga is in the center of a lawsuit filed by former employees that claim that the yoga studio is a place of cult brainwashing. CNN reports that the lawsuit claims paints Dahn Yoga in a less than favorable light. The former employees claim that Dahn Yoga is “a totalistic, high-demand cult group” that required them to fork over massive amounts of money and places its founder Ilchi Lee as an “absolute spiritual and temporal leader”....

In a move that could upset West Virginia’s appellate court system for a period of time, a house committee in the state’s legislature has voted to impeach the entire West Virginia Supreme Court. The justices now face a full vote of the state house, followed by a vote in the state’s senate. Like many parents, Devin Winans checked in on his sleeping infant in the middle of the night. His one-year-old baby boy was stirring in his sleep and Winans felt around the crib. To the parent’s shock and horror, he found that a python had slithered its way into the crib.
