Despite the fact that one would be hard pressed to call Sharpe a gifted public speaker, he managed to land a recurring role on CBS Sports ‘The NFL Today’ in May 2004, appearing on their weekly pre and post-game NFL programs. A temporary restraining order (TRO) is a legal motion frequently filed by a person alleging domestic violence. However in this case it appears that there was never a police report regarding the violence. That in of itself does not mean that the alleged violence never happened, but it could impact the credibility of the allegations. When a TRO is issued, the alleged abuser is usually required to stay a certain distance away from the victim, such as 100 yards. One who violates a TRO can be charged with contempt of court and face arrest.
